If you walk out my front door, within about 2 minutes you’ll be greeted by my neighbor’s cat; Bubbles.
This is boy is bright orange, with one toe missing, matted hair and dirty paws. Most often he is sniffling or sneezing.
Today he has a dirty nose. Just saying.
Everyone knows bubbles.
We may not know the name of the neighbor down the street, but we know the cat Bubbles.
Bubbles is our neighborhood welcome wagon who lives across the street with his family including a “dog” sister who he loves. Bubble is non-judgmental and loving to anyone who loves him back.
Bubbles loves purrs and pats, but doesn’t like to be picked up. He will stand in the middle of the street or meander down the road walking all sassy with his tail up and his attitude adjusted.
I have heard kids riding by in the car shouting to Bubbles. I know if he wasn’t walking, he would probably wave. Hehe
Bubbles is know to walk in front of kids riding their bikes to get attention. He also leg rubs those going for a stroll. He makes certain no cats wander around without his approval. (Rarely does a cat get his approval). He has gained popularity with everyone on the street despite his dirty paws.
Bubbles seems to have a few homes he frequents, mine being one, as he manages to have the door opened for him by my friends who think my “orange” cat is hungry. There he is strolling with his “dirty” paws prints onto the world and on my floor.
According to my cat Mr. Bailey, this is unacceptable.
Honestly, It is not pretty to see Mr. Bailey lose all his Zen when bubbles sneak in to eat. I think Mr. Bailey needs to learn the art of compassion or the art form of being nice.
As for Miss Mattie, she is not as disturbed by Bubbles. She just thinks he is another one of those strange primitive cats.
Bubbles is one of those unique cats that prances to his own inner purr. He may not be all Zen, but he brings an air of wisdom and a sassy outlook to our world and our neighborhood.
We have learned many lessons from bubbles…
Here are a few.
- He knows that home is where his heart is and since he has a big heart, he has many homes.
- He is our ‘cat cop’ making sure no cats get out of line. Let’s face it, he knows all the secrets of the neighborhood and is respected by all.
- Bubbles belongs to no one except for everyone. He holds no judgment, especially if you have food …or tuna.
- Every yard is owned by bubbles; despite if you realize it or not.
- If you were to meet Bubbles, the one thing that is evident is the mysterious way about him. He’s the lone traveler who is friendly and kind, but you never quite get to understand his ways.
- We appreciate that Bubbles spreads friendship, joy, and he keeps the neighborhood connected…he walks that one dirty paw print on each of our hearts…every time.
Thank You Bubbles for bringing us your sassy ways. We appreciate you!
…even if the cats don’t.
Peace, Hugs & Purrs,
KT
