This is the scenario across the cat land today…
The Thanksgiving holiday is over, you have ate so much turkey that the tryptophan has made you sleepy. You look over and see a cute cat all cuddled and peaking from under the blankets.
Awww…I am going to go cuddle with the cat and perhaps watch some football or a movie then take a nap.
As you get closer, you realize…it is not a cat at all.
First thought, bummer.
Second thought, wow that really looked like a cat.
Don’t worry, you’re not bat cat crazy.
Sometimes we see things different then what they actually are.
I bet the cat sees this too!
These are called illusion or hidden images but I like to call them visions.
They’re when things line up to create an image that is not there. You mind see what it perceives it to be.
Some people have this heightened ability and it is natural, or others need a little help (from a turkey) to make you sleepy and more receptive. Some need to practice using 3D images to allow the mind and eyes to shift.
In many cultures it is natural to see the world like this and those who do are regarded. To see these images was to see into another realm. They could read the signs from the Gods, plus be aware of good and bad omens to come. They were the seer. Although time have change, some people are natural at this.
So, not to toot my cat horn, but I have learned this ability. With my cat-eye of perception I am able to see the world like this…
Children are very good at seeing these type of images because they don’t have the conscious filter that we have.
Nowadays, people love sharing the images of animals or divine beings in toast or clouds.
How does it work?
Some of us cats have a more relaxed mind and these images just flow, others have to work on it. A cat has great vision when it comes to fast movement, seeing in the distance and night-time vision. Us humans have the ability to see depth and vibrant colors which helps to open our minds to many variations in sight. For us, it is less about the site and more about the mind.
Basically, it is all about perception and resistance.
Perception is observing an image that is seen by you. No one else sees what you do and no one can interpret it the same way.
Naturally our mind interprets and organizes what is sees to create an experience. When our mind sees or experiences something that is strange or different, it starts to break down the image using the other 5 senses if necessary to guide the way.
The mind needs to rationalize everything. To do this, it goes back through our experience brain-file to find similar experience.
When it doesn’t register anything, the brain gets confused and either discounts it or clumps it with something similar. You have seen this expression in people. The confused “what is that?” look.
Now, once you see an image in another image; providing it doesn’t change, you can’t un-see it.
The mind registers it and is no longer surprised by it. Basically, it now has a file extension for it. Example, now that you see the cat in the rain forest image, you will always see it.
One of the ways to change your perception to see these images in everyday life is to let go of conscious though and just look. Don’t over analyze…just see.
Seeing these things does not make a crazy cat, if anything it opens us up to the complexity of our unique interpretation of life. It opens the mind to a different way of thinking and for some it can be a way to connect to the fascinating synchronicity of life.
It can show us that everything is connected.
Sometimes these images invoke a strong emotion. A feeling of divine connection, for some it can bring about a memory or a reminder of someone or something. It can also be a sign post like in the form of a divination or an oracle. Either way you see it, it is less about the image and more about your emotion behind it. Let’s not forget that sometimes a cat is just a cat, or a bird, or a turtle in the cloud.
To open to these experiences, start slow.
- Being sleep or relaxed can enhance the ability to see things. Go eat more turkey!
- Look at the world like you have never seen it before.
- Look at shadows, variation of textures and the background . Start with clouds, then trees then the whole landscapes.
- Go with the feeling you get when you see it. Does the image remind you of something or someone or does it remind you of a situation.
- Make a list of what you see, you may see a theme.
- Lastly, have fun!
The more you let yourself see, the more you will notice. It can be fun and you may just be a surprised cat at what you see.
