This morning I was watching a bird, being all mindful trying not to think of anything but the bird. Watching its feather move gracefully, the way it’s little chest moves up and down while it was breathing. The way it balanced on the tiny tree limb as the branch seems to float up and down with the weight of the bird. Watching the beak open and close to make bird noises. I listened attentively to the pitch and tone.
Interrupting this zen moment, I hear my cat thump in with the grace of a bull in the china store. He jumps up and body slams into my window with his mouth wide open and paws sliding down the glass. What a beautiful non-graceful sight. So much so that the bird looked over at the cat, staring, tree limb bobbing but not moving. I think the bird laughed, or that could have been me.
The cat jumped off the window sill and walked away defeated, knocking everything off my desk to make room for his pissy attitude. He deliberately paw thumped his way back out of the room, so I continued on with my zen bird watching.
Me and the bird had a moment.
Peace, Love and Paws!
