Thursday Cat thoughts
A piece of the puzzle
By Mr. Bailey, the Zen cat
“Not every puzzle is intended to be solved. Some are in place to test your limits. Others are, in fact, not puzzles at all…”
― Vera Nazarian
I was watching my human play with a puzzle. I became intrigued by all of the pieces. It was like a big toy that I wanted to play with. I could jump and slide into it. See where all of the pieces fall. Or, I could go bat a few around to make my own puzzle.
Let’s not forget the box that it comes in. Oooooh, Miss Mattie would be so excited excited.
Life is a box puzzle; it looks broken, yet complete in its own way.
When you finish putting all the puzzle pieces together does it make it complete? What if you miss a piece or two?
I see this scenario….
Miss Mattie steals a few puzzle pieces, puts them under the couch or in her box then plays with them periodically. She chews up your pieces so they will not fit in your puzzle-ever.
I steal a piece or two and hide it. I know where the puzzle pieces are but I do not bother to tell you or remove them for they are right where they are meant to be.
So, while you are waiting for this missing pieces to reemerge you have two choices.
- Go search for your missing pieces. It could take a while, and you still may not find them to ‘complete’ your puzzle.
- Surrender to a puzzle that will not look complete. It’s like a beautiful mystery that can’t be solved.
As you search around the house trying to find those pieces, ask yourself. Are you looking for the missing puzzle piece or some other piece of your life that is missing?
As you know, us cats found what we needed. Some quality play time and a bit of fun teasing the human. Plus a box. We can’t forget the box.
Be Zen and enjoy the search for the truth of the puzzle.
The searching may be what you need, regardless of what you find.
