Oh boy!
For those who are superstitious, look away now!
For those of us who are not, continue on.
The number 13 has always gotten a bad rap which is unfortunate as their are some positive aspects of this number.
For one, this number is one of my favorites! Plus in Egypt there are 13 steps to the ladder that leads to eternity, which is where the soul gains enlightenment. There are 13 moons in a year, and since the moon is a powerful symbol for women and the cat, this is good. They are both based in feminine essence, fertility (abundance) and heightened perception. The tarot card number 13 relates to the death card, although this sounds daunting, this card does’t mean dead in the literal since, but instead it is a time for transformation or transition. The proverbial “death of the old, in with the new” applies here. That corresponds to the natural cycle of our life.
Our full moon is our feminine based Goddess connection to our sacred mysteries and to that of others as the moon light shines upon us all. We can expand our cat essence of embracing our intuitive abilities under the light of the moon plus we can tap into the moon energy and revitalize our being. The moon has the power to create change plus it connects you to the cycle of the tides, our “moon flow” and nature.
As for the black cat, they are not evil. (grumpy cat could be though, but then we see the cute side in her too)
Black is a color that is absorption of all colors with the absence of light. Black can hide, but it can also be a color of self-control, power and it can help clear the mind to give insight. It also cocoons and protects. So, that being said, saying a black cat is evil is saying night time is evil. Seriously? People are weird.
I will definitely not tell Trouble Cat about the evil cat thing. He may be “evil” in his silly ways, but he is a bundle of light and love which shine through.
Not an evil bone in his cat body. Well, maybe when he is hungry….
Shhhh…. he has a reputation to uphold.
As for Black cats….
- Black cats in some cultures are considered lucky. Would make since considering their color attracts all the colors.
- They have this silent, mysterious side that can open you up to greater spiritual teachings.
- Black cats are also guardian animals. They have an intuitive since of protection.
- Black cats are sometimes called a familiar animal. That is an animal who attaches to its owner in an emotional of psychic bond; attuning to each other. There is a difference in the connection than what you would find in your average cat-human relationship. You will know…trust me. Many cultures have cats or other familiars in their life.
I have also included in this blog post a link to a MOON RITUAL I wrote to connect you to your Cat Essence and the Goddess within! What better day then Friday the 13th, full moon to embrace and open awareness to mysteries of the cat that dwell within!
Hugs..KT Cat!
