Yes, there are three ways to find love, but you only need one.
Look in the mirror.
If you remember back there was a very popular song from Whitney Houston called “the greatest love of all”. This song was about self-love and finding love within. With valentines coming up, we need to look to this song for inspiration and re-think the idea of a great “love.”
There are a lot of demands put upon others to “fill us” up with love.
We expect so much from others but fail to find our own love within. Usually all of these demands or expectations are from a deep ‘void’ we have inside. We don’t love ourselves like we should. We only see the negative; the hurt, lack of self-esteem, lack of confidence or the unworthy feeling of a false believe that we are not good enough or shouldn’t have love. So, we self-sabotage.
We need to find a way to accept love in our heart unconditionally without any expectations. To accept love for what it is.
You can find your greatest love of all, but it takes some self-examination and a little work. Check out this post too for some “love and cat” insight.
So for tomorrow give yourself a Valentine’s Day gift. The best gift of all is to find “the greatest love of all”…within.
- Pamper yourself in a way you haven’t done before. Do it mindfully and with a full heart. Do this weekly or a month or more to start. You should keep it simple and focus more on the feeling of “deserving” then what you are doing.
- Every day for the next month write down 3 things you like about yourself. If you can’t think of something, you can repeat what you wrote. Make it personal. This is about your personality, traits, and ways. Don’t write about other people or put down anything negative. Saying “I have a cute husband” may be true but it is not about you. Now, saying “I make good decisions”, will work.
- Love can bring great strength. Love can make changes in people and situations. Love is powerful and can do a lot of good. There are also different kinds of love. This is hard to do but try not to “think” about love but instead feel it. Feel love in a universal sense. Everyday just “feel” love in your heart. No demands, no expectations. Just be with the strength of love.
Love is in the air especially around this time of year, so it is good to have a little Valentine magic of our own. It gives us reflection and lets us see what we really need as apposed to what we think we want.
Love is beautiful and it is within all of us…including you.
“Because the greatest love of all
Is happening to me
I found the greatest love of all..
Inside of me…”
Whitney Huston (the greatest love of all)
