Is it wrong to want what I want and to expect it now?
Miss Mattie says….
Yes, I am one of those cats who wants what she wants now.
You can’t run the world without determination, right?
I am always on the move. I want to go somewhere, do something or get something.
When my human comes home I wait for her, hoping she has a box or a bag of food for my delight. I get excited just thinking about it.
Mr Bailey doesn’t seem want anything. Well, actually last week he wanted a new perspective and a clean window. I don’t think he got either. (These windows need washing)
Who enjoys sitting on a cushion starting out a window not wanting anything?
Not me. I want my toy, my catnip, my human to cuddle me and sing me songs. I want my litter box clean and my water bowl fresh. I even want to have a few warm sun spots to sit in. ( We will talk about those vexing sun spots later!)
When he is not breathing on his window of enlightenment, Mr. Bailey does likes to sit on the table as our human writes on the blog. He puts his tail of insight over her arm as she writes. I think it is some form of Zen ass-mosis. Oh, I mean osmosis.
Speaking of osmosis, I do want Mr. Bailey to teach me Zen, but then I don’t want him to teach me Zen. I want food in my food bowl but I don’t want “that” food.
Humans want all the time, so why can’t I want?
I even want what I don’t want?
What the hell do I want?
I am confused.
Today I want you to read my blog post and give me a few “high fives”.
Don’t disappoint, give me a shout out below!
You know that Mr. Bailey is going to put his 2 wise cents in to give me some Zen lesson.
Today I can use it because honestly, I don’t know what I want.
Mr. Bailey’s wise cat wisdom
Awww…thank you Miss Mattie
It is good to know that sometimes you “want” me to teach you. It is rare so for you to want anything from me except to move out of your way.
Wanting makes us cats feel unsatisfied. The more unsatisfied we feel the more we want.
Yes, it is the same as when you want your toy now, and then discard it a minute later because your bored. Or when you constantly meow at our human to feed you, but when you get the food you walk away. These are your “wants” and obviously your un-satisfaction with them. The cat cycle continues.
Just to be clear Miss Mattie, I can’t give you what you want cause what you “need” is already inside of you.
What to do about it? Nothing.
The next time you want something; do nothing. Let the feeling pass on by. Purr into it and let it go. Perhaps it will go away and never return, or it may be back in a minute.
Wanting is a pesky creature, it is always lurking.
Either way you need to realize if what you want is really what you need or what you “think” you want.
