Black Cat Countdown-Day 5!
Caught in a Spider Web
By Miss Mattie
We can’t talk about Black Cats, Halloween and all those things that go bump in the night without talking about spiders!!
I was walking around downstairs doing my basement hunting and I walked right into a spider web.
Since I was on patrol I was already into the ninja mindset so I attacked this web by giving it a few pap pops and ninja style bunny kicks.
I managed to escape capture, but to no avail, I have webbing hanging off of my ears and tail.
Not a look I want to share with the world.
What spider in their right mind would put a spider web near the ground? What are they trying to capture- An ant? Dust bunnies?
I think I may have swallowed a bug too. Sigh
I don’t mind mice, but bugs that are covered in web are not sushi. They are sticky like cotton candy without the tasty candy part.
As a cat, I don’t mind spiders. When they are not in their web they are fun to play with. Hey, I am a cat.
Shhh, don’t tell my mom, she likes spiders.
She once left a spider web on the outside of my sitting window for over a week. It was pretty for her, but I had to look between the webs. I think the spider was mocking me too.
It was actually ok until the web got damp, then the light would filter off it and sparkle. Enough to give one a seizure!
Mr. Bailey tells me that spider webs are interesting. Spiders are born to spin a web, like I am born to be a cat. Both of us don’t need to be taught our talent to make beautiful artwork; we have it in our paws, or spider feet.
Do spiders have feet?
Unlike me, spiders don’t have good eyesight, so they use vibrations like I do with my whiskers.
I get that. By the time my whiskers touched that spider web it was like the movie the matrix!
I don’t think the spider figured it would catch a ninja cat.
Bailey says that the webs are super strong and that the spider in many cultures weave wisdom.
I think Mr. Bailey may have spider webs in his head.
He says that spider webs teach us to be strong, patient and tolerate to changes. He also said that spiders can teach us about the things in our life that we have been neglected. When the spider spins his web onto something, we have usually moved beyond it.
I am surprise that Mr. Bailey is not covered in a spider web yet.
I think that life is like a spider web….
Laws are spider webs through which the big flies pass and the little ones get caught.
