No one likes messes that are left behind…especially the ones that are really on the behind.
We have all seen our cat brother or sister walk out of the cat box with um… how do I say this nicely.
A messy cat behind or butt.
We try not to look, but it is hard not too. We know what is there as we see it clearly, especially when the proud tail extended upwards.
Unfortunately, it can’t be unseen. Sigh.
My brother usually has a messy behind ( yes, I am over sharing) as he has magnetic fur that attracts everything. Maybe that is why he has so much zen. He is a magnet for wisdom…and poop.
I have learned as a young cat that I can’t worry about his mess. I can give reminders when necessary and I can be supportive, but that is all I can do.
If I do more, I will transfer his mess into my mind. As a small cat I only have so much room in my mind. Don’t want his crap cluttering it.
So, with loving meow, I say…
My dear Brother Bailey…
- You need to clean up your mess.
- Wash and repeat if necessary. If really necessary do it again. (that will probably be the case)
- Once you clean up, you can move on.
As you would say..
when you are done, don’t revisit that old memory over again. When you focus on what is left behind, it is not mindful. It will bring you no Zen. It may instead bring mental or physical chaffing. (we don’t want to see that-hell no)
I want you to be that cat with a clean mind, and a clean behind who leaves it all behind.
I will too, then together we can be proud when we shake our sassy ass.
See, I am learning Zen. Well, Litter Box Zen. All the same right?
Respectfully your sister, Miss Mattie.
