Perspective is everything when you are experiencing the challenges of life.

Miss Mattie says…
Today was like any other day until I sat in cat poop.
No, I didn’t just sit in litter, I actually sat in poop and my bum made an imprint in it.
This is rather disturbing.
I went to my box to do my thing and I wasn’t paying attention. Not to be graphic, but when I squatted down, my bum touched the cat poop.
It wasn’t mine!
My Bailey is finding this funny because he told me that “poop floats down hill.”
He lied.
It was probably his, but I will never know. I don’t think I have ever seen him poop. I wonder if zen cats actually poop or does it disappear into the place of impermanence?
I know I am making a mountain out of a small poop hill, but now my litter box has a cat butt print in in.
I hope my butt print doesn’t end up on facebook.
A sassy cat can’t have a dirty bum you know, what will the other cats think?
Do you know if you say “bum” in a British accent it doesn’t sound so bad?
Anyway, regardless of how it sounds, I must take time out of my afternoon cat nap to clean my bum.
I can’t guarantee I will be Zen doing this.
I think I found my moral to the story.
Some days you step in poop, some days you sit in it.
At least I didn’t get pooped on. For that I am grateful.
Sitting in poop reminds me that not everything can be put out of cat sight, or out of cat mind no matter how hard I try. I must now deal with this situation and take mindful action.
As I clean my butt, I will ponder this dirty road I travel to enlightenment.
Mr. Bailey’s wise cat wisdom
We must find Zen in the things that we perceive as un-Zen thing. An experience is an experience- it is only the label our mind gives it that makes it good or bad.
If you were a flea, sitting in cat poop would be a good thing. If you were a human in a white wedding dress, it would be very bad.
When the poop is uncovered and the truth is revealed, you will see that we all have the same truth and it is no different from any other cat or human. Our truth is how we understand and relate to the experiences offered. It is our unique perspective which can be changes with awareness.
Don’t worry Miss Mattie…
The crap you sit in in the past will be gone by the time you realize it is the future.
Yes, us Zen Cats poop. And we laugh when you sit in it.
