“Poets, writers and artists share their heart by sharing their art. . If you love your cat, share that!”

The unique paw print that is your cat-blog post 5
Here is the last installment in the 5 part series.
Cats are such finicky animals. Just watch them look at the food bowl after you fill it. The cat looks up all wide eyed and then looks back at that bowl as if to complain. No tuna?
I think the cat believes that they are doing us a service by allowing us to stick around. Are we really worthy of their presence? I wonder sometimes.
“I am glad that cats choose us, not the other way around.”

I have found that a cat comes into our lives for special reasons, and we need to nurture that bond. In paying attention to the cat we can use their nose for inner knowledge to learn and grow…together.
Remember, a cat can hide from you but you can’t hide your emotions from a cat.
Although this is written for a human, you can relate it directly to your cat.
A season. A reason. A lifetime.
People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. When you figure out which it is, you know exactly what to do.
When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed outwardly or inwardly. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally, or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend, and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrong doing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up or out and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled; their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and it is now time to move on.
When people come into your life for a SEASON, it is because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn. They may bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it! It is real! But, only for a season.
LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons; those things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person/people (anyway); and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

Cats come into our life for a reason, some a long or short season, but ALL cats will have a space in our hearts for a lifetime.
So, we must appreciate the time and lessons we gain as we honor every moment the best we can.
- Be in gratitude daily. It is the small things that you will remember.
- Write down the experiences you’ve had with these lessons throughout this series. These are memories. Keep notes.
- Creativity is expressive and it’s a great way to show appreciation to your cat. It is a wonderful to find contentment and share it with others.
- Blog, tweet or write about them. Cats are great teachers through the seasons of your life. Some other people may benefit from your Zen cat wisdom too!
- Start a cat journal. This journal can include silly antics, toys, favorite places to sleep plus special moments like the first day of coming “home.” It can also be a wonderful place to store memories for years to come.
- Create a spacial place to honor the cats in your life. A shrine or cat garden tucked in the corner of your home. It is actually healthy and a creative outlet for expressing love.
As I bring this series to a close, I just want to say that there are many ways to show your cats your love. Being spiritual connected to the cat just enhances your time together.
It’s time to imprint those memories and paw prints on both your hearts.
