As a cat you have a favorite toy… you cat pad around, cat toy always in your mouth. Soon enough you put the toy down and play with it. Now, you have to make decisions; pounce on it with high flying wiggles and jumps, or wait. Patiently watching it with your wide eyes of wonder?
Often you find this toy brings you great pleasure as it just glides along the floor in an effortless way.
You find perfect balance of paws on floor as you move in and out and around objects with cat-like precision and grace. Everything seems right; perfectly Zen like. The toy flips in the air and you catch it by the claw of the paw.
All is good.
Until…one day this toy doesn’t move and it makes your tail twitch in confusion.
Do you push it, prod it or just wait?
Do you ponder the toys worthiness to be played with?
Maybe you decide to cat nap on the idea because all of these decisions are tiring. You wonder and also worry if you sleep to long, will the toy be there when you wake or will you cat snooze and lose? That will be terrible.
Right now the toy is failing to give you cat-satisfaction.
There it is 3 days later, taunting your mind as it sits wedged under the door out of paw pulling reach. You meow at the door of obstacles but to no avail the opportunity to open is not there. You give up, putting your whiskers of instinct on the cold floor of truth…knowing that this toy is now staring at you through the crack of the past.
Many of your cat lives may soon go by as you wait by the closed door ..pondering the toy.
Soon, you find yourself reliving the past, telling a cat tail or two about how much fun and adventure you had with your toy. The cat glory days they were!
All of a sudden, it happens….
Something shifts and you realize you need to stop pawing at the door for this old toy. You have been looking at what it was; not as it is now. Finally opening your cat eyes wide you realize this toy is an old bundle of dirty fabric and old cat fur. You realize it’s a projection of fuzzy memories that you have sewn into the toy’s fabric of life.
This toy has taken many of your cat lives to keep its existence alive.
Not anymore.
You now paw stretch to new possibilities as you pick yourself off the floor. Your cat nose of knowledge has just sniffed the scent of what lies on this side of the door; the place where fresh ideas and new adventures can begin.
You can now let go and stop chasing the toy attached to your past.
So here you are, cat head held high as you pad and purr with purpose playing with your new toy of potential.
Life is cat good.
For one can’t chase the toy of life into the future, we can only be in the presence of its fun now.
Peace, Paws and Play!
